Uma Internacional Fascista em Formação? A Fascist International is Being Formed?

Tínhamos acabado de publicar «Hitler: Ascensão Irresistível?» quando lemos no JN sobre a viagem de um ex-conselheiro de Trump, S. Bannon, à Itália, para apresentar a sua «plataforma “The Movement” (O Movimento)» num encontro participado por apoiantes da extrema-direita europeia, nomeadamente o partido Fratelli d’Italia. Segundo a notícia, “The Movement” conta já com a adesão do «líder pró-fascista Matteo Salvini» (vice PM da Itália), do Partido Popular Belga, do Vox espanhol e «namora» Marine Le Pen, o partido Fidez da Hungria a que pertence o actual presidente fascista Orban, e o dirigente de extrema-direita holandesa Wilders. Note-se que as designações extrema-direita, ultra-direita, direita radical, etc., são quanto a nós eufemismos que contribuem para manter o adormecimento das massas, fazendo-as crer que é mais um partido democrático parlamentar, como qualquer outro. De facto, todos eles são fascistas. Mas, claro, tal como no passado, todos eles se mascaram de democratas enquanto se tiverem de constranger a isso. Entretanto, vão contribuindo para o esvaziamento da paupérrima democraticidade que ainda subsiste na UE e construindo o seu «Movimento» de massas. Seria mais apropriado chamar tais partidos de pró-fascistas e começaremos a seguir essa prática. Voltemos à notícia. O que defende Bannon? Pois precisamente por criar um grande movimento de massas que apoie as seguintes teses da «plataforma»: «a classe média trabalhadora foi a que sofreu com a crise […] criada pela elite financeira pró-emigração, anti-nacionalista e anti-tradição judaico-cristã que entregou o mundo à China, culpada de todos os males. [O objectivo do «Movimento»:] lutar contra o apocalipse que se perfila se o “partido de Davos” vencer as eleições europeias: o fim da espécie humana». A demagogia fascista em pleno, só que adaptada às condições actuais. P. ex., a condenação demagógica hitleriana da «plutocracia capitalista» foi agora adaptada em condenação de o «partido de Davos», procurando atrair as camadas que sofrem com o actual capitalismo monopolista mas são de consciência atrasada. Bannon sabe que o terreno que pisa está bem adubado, quer (1) pelos movimentos e proeminentes políticos fascistas que grassam pela UE – alguns já instalados no poder e abertamente apoiando paradas de SSs e defendendo a revisão da História – e nos EUA, quer (2) pelo esvaziamento democrático da UE, a sua crescente militarização, destruição de direitos laborais incluindo os sindicais. Quem financia Bannon? Não temos quaisquer dúvidas de que são os monopólios. Mas esta questão merece maior aprofundamento, tal como a questão das ligações entre os partidos fascistas europeus e os seus financiadores. Parece-nos que os marxistas com capacidade para o fazer deverão levar a cabo este estudo com urgência e, com base nele, denunciar publicamente «os milhões» actualmente por detrás do fascismo na Europa e EUA.

We had just posted "Hitler: Irresistible Ascension?" when we read in the JN (a Portuguese newspaper) about the travel to Italy of S. Bannon, a former adviser of Trump, for the purpose of presenting his “platform ‘The Movement’" at a meeting participated by European far-right supporters, namely the party Fratelli d'Italia. According to the news, "The Movement" already counts in its ranks with the "pro-fascist leader Matteo Salvini" (vice PM of Italy), the Belgian Popular Party, the Spanish Vox and "is dating" Marine Le Pen, the Hungarian party Fidez of which the current fascist president Orban is a member, and the leader of the Dutch far-right Wilders. It should be noted that, in our view, the designations extreme right, far right, radical right, etc., are euphemisms that contribute to maintain the numbness of the masses, making them believe that it is just one more parliamentary democratic party, like any other. In fact, they are all fascists. But, of course, as in the past, they all masquerade as democrats as long as they are constrained to it. In the meantime, they go on contributing to the emptying of the very poor democraticity still running in the EU and building up their mass "Movement". It should be more appropriate to call such parties as pro-fascist, and we will start following this practice. Let's go back to the news. What does Bannon stand for? He does indeed stand for building up a great mass movement which supports the following theses of the “platform”: “the working middle class has suffered from the crisis [...] created by the pro-emigration financial elite, anti-nationalist and anti-Judeo-Christian-tradition, which has delivered the world to China, guilty of all evils. [The aim of the 'Movement':] is to fight against the apocalypse if the 'Davos party' wins the European elections: the end of the human race”. Fascist demagoguery in full, only adapted to the current conditions. For example, the Hitlerian demagogic condemnation of the "capitalist plutocracy" has now been adapted to the condemnation of the "Davos party", seeking to attract the layers that suffer from the present monopoly capitalism but whose conscience is lagging behind. Bannon knows that the terrain he treads is well fertilized, both by (1) the fascist movements and prominent fascist politicians that are rampant in the EU -- some already installed in the power and openly supporting SS parades and defending the rewriting of History -- and USA, and (2) the democratic emptying of the EU, its growing militarization, its destruction of labor rights including those of the trade unions. Who funds Bannon? We have no doubt that it is the monopolies. But this issue deserves further study, as does the issue of the links between the European fascist parties and their financiers. It seems to us that Marxists with ability for such task should carry out this study urgently and, on the basis of it, publicly denounce "the millions" standing today behind fascism in Europe and the United States.
